United Healthcare (AARP) Medicare Supplement Plans in 2020 – AARP Medigap

hello my name is Robert beige I own senior healthcare direct Medicare Bob's office my agents and I we help people nationwide with their Medicare coverage we value education options and customer service in this video we're going to talk about United Healthcare AARP Medigap Medicare supplement plans and.

Which plans they offer and what they cover now a lot of people get confused because they when they hear about AARP Medicare supplement plans they think that AARP is the actual insurance company and they're not they're actually endorsing United Healthcare so United Healthcare will be your insurance company if you choose an AARP Medicare.

Supplement plan AARP offers a variety of different Medicare supplement plans in all 50 states they offer Medicare supplement plan a plan C Plan F they offer plan in and they just rolled out Medicare supplement plan G with really low premiums in a lot of those states so let's talk about what Medicare.

Supplement plan a covers Medicare supplement plan a that's your most basic Medicare supplement plan you get I'll post a chart behind me but it essentially is going to pay your 20% that Medicare doesn't pay so you'll have to pay the Medicare Part A deductible every time you go to the hospital which this year is around $1,400 you'll have.

To pay the Medicare Part B deductible which is only $198 and you'll have to pay Medicare Part B excess charges if a provider charges one so plan a is a very basic plan but at least it does cover the 20% another plan that United Healthcare offers in some states is the Medicare supplement plan B plan B is also basic but it's going to be a little.

Bit stronger in benefits in the Medicare supplement plan a plan B is going to pay the Medicare Part A deductible of $1,400 every time you go it's going to pay the per day chargers that Part A coinsurance and it pays the Part B coinsurance the 20% if you have plan B you're not going to get the foreign travel benefit you will have to pay Part B excess charges.

And you have to pay that very small Medicare Part B deductible of $198 another plan is Medicare supplement plan C a lot of people get Plan C confused with Medicare Part C Medicare Part C is actually another way of saying a Medicare Advantage plan Medicare supplement plan C that's a Medigap a true federally.

Regulated Medicare supplement plan now you can only get Plan C if you were eligible for Medicare before January 1st 2020 if you joined Medicare after January first two thousand twenty you're not eligible to purchase the Plan C so now let's talk about what the plan C covers Plan C is very comprehensive it is gonna.

Pay the Part A coinsurance per day hospital it's gonna pay your part a deductible that fourteen or dollars every time you go it's gonna pay the twenty percent that Medicare doesn't pay what Medicare supplement plan C does not pay is the Part B excess charges another supplement plan that United Healthcare offers is the Medicare supplement plan F.

Similar to the plan C you can only get Medicare supplement plan F if you were eligible for Medicare before January 1st 2020 again if you're eligible for Medicare for Medicare after January 1st thousand twenty you can no longer purchase the plan F plan F is a lot like Plan C except it does pay the Part B excess charges it also has the foreign.

Travel benefit as well so with Plan F you're gonna it's gonna pay your per day stay in the hospital it's gonna pay your part a deductible it's actually does pay the Part B deductible and it pays for the Part B coinsurance as well and the foreign travel benefit my favorite plan that unites healthcare offers which they just rolled out recently in the last 12.

Months with nice low premiums is the Medicare supplement plan G I call Plan G the greatest value I like plan G it's had great rate stability over the last five years and I project it's can have more rate stability over the next five years as well you know health care just rolled out the plan G in the last 12 months and the rates are very.

Competitive plan G if you are on Medicare after January 1st 2020 it is the most comprehensive Medicare supplement plan someone can purchase it is very good with plan G it's gonna pay your hospital Part A deductible and your per day per day Part A coinsurance so you won't have any hospital bills with United Healthcare AARP plan G it also.

Pays the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay it has the foreign travel benefit and it does pay the Part B excess charges the only thing the Medicare supplement plan G does not paid that for Medicare coverage services is the very small Medicare Part B deductible which is only $198 so I'm a big fan of plan G if you're looking at plan G AARP.

And I health care is an a-rated carrier and they have good prices on the plan G a very popular plan that people are looking at is the Medicare supplement plan in which you know health care offers in all 50 states Medicare supplement plan it is a good plan it's gonna have a more affordable premium payment and then maybe the G or the F.

For those that are eligible to still get F but you are gonna have more out-of-pocket costs with the Medicare supplement plan in you have for out-of-pocket costs that you have to pay you have to pay the Medicare Part B deductible which is $198 you have up to a $20 copay every time you go to the doctor which is primary or specialist.

Than most any provider a doctor can charge you up to $20 if you go to the ER you have a $50 copay if you're admitted that $50 is waived and Medicare supplement plan does not pay the Part B excess charges so if you're looking at the plan in I like that plan however in our office when we compare United Healthcare is plan G et9 healthcare is.

Plan in the price difference is about 15 to 20 dollars per month so once we explain the differences in coverages between the G and the end we have 90 percent of the time our clients are choosing the Medicare supplement plan G over the end for now because for $18 a month or so they'd rather not have to worry about any.

Co-pays or the Part B excess charges unite healthcare and AARP supplement plans are unique they offer two plans that most carriers do not offer Medicare supplement plan K and Medicare supplement plan in Medicare supplement K and I'm sorry Medicare supplement K and Medicare supplement plan L these are for people that might be looking at a.

Medicare Advantage plan and they don't may not have that want to budget a higher premium for a supplement plan but you have to be okay with some higher out-of-pocket costs so let's talk about Medicare supplement plan K so with plan K it's gonna pay the per day fee in the hospital but it's only gonna pay 50% of that part a deductible which is around.

$1400 so when you go to the hospital you're gonna have to pay around 700 hours every time you go it also was only gonna pay 50% of the three pints of blood where the other plans all paid 100% of that it's gonna pay 50% we have your skilled there facility benefit so with Medicare they're gonna cover you for the first 20.

Days those other plans that we talked about like plan G plan in they're gonna cover your nursing home skilled nursing facility for an additional 80 days however with Medicare supplement plan k you're gonna have a copay it should be around seventy seventy five dollars per day that you're in there because you're supp my plan k is going to pay the other.

Fifty percent and it also pays owned like I mentioned only 50% of your Part A deductible and you do have to pay the Medicare Part B deductible of one ninety eight plan l is very similar plan k but everything that I mentioned where it pays fifty percent it's gonna pay seventy five percent so I pay seventy five percent of your part a deductible.

75 percent of the skilled nursing care here's the deal Medicare supplement plan K and L they should be more affordable because they have more cost-sharing however because of nobody really purchases those plans they have a smaller risk pool so really if you look Medicare supplement plan in and plan G price wise is almost just as competitive.

As KL and you're eating a lot more benefits United Healthcare AARP is a great company we do offer them they're one of the thirty a rated carriers that we offer for your Medigap Medicare supplement coverage I do recommend that when you call us bring them up they do have their they just got rid of silver sneakers and they got their own gym.
